The Goal
Make the demo account easy to discover, guide new users to their first trade with minimal friction, and clearly differentiate demo from real portfolio.
Discovery & Benchmarking
I audited 10+ trading apps, benchmarking them against our goals. Analyzing competitors like Robinhood, Revolut, and Trading212 taught me that "demo" shouldn't be hidden — it needs to be a full-fledged mode with its own clear status badge and persistent quick-action buttons.
Design: Before vs. After
The final interface introduced a clean mode switcher in the header, intuitive virtual-balance chips, and a simplified first-time user checklist (FTUE). Inline quick actions replaced the need for deep navigation, making the trading experience feel snappy and professional.
